SwaziLII to Host AfricanLII for a Two-days Conference

 

The workshop scheduled to run for two days will resume on the 12th to the 13th May 2011 and will be held at the Mountainn Inn and Ministry of Justice Conference room on the respective dates.

SwaziLII in an endeavour to sensitize its stakeholders has requested their counterparts in the regional office situated in Johannesburg to come and train them. SwaziLII's stakeholders the Judiciary in its entiety, Tha Law society, The academia, legislature, executive, law students and the public at large,\.

Supreme Court Ends On a High Note

The Second session of the Supreme Court 2011 legal year has come to end. The Honourable Chief Justice sitting with other Justices of the Supreme Court has declared the closing of the Supreme when delivering close to thirty (30) judgments in open Court on Wednesday the 30th of November 2011. The Supreme Court resumed its sittings on the 01st of November 2011, where a number of cases had been enrolled before it.

The Success of the AfricanLII's Training workshop for Coordinators

AfricanLII,a regional coordinating body for all LII'S in Africa, has been able to host a 5 days workshop in Rosebank, Johannesburg whre Coordinators from Seychelles,Sierra Leone and Swaziland were invited to paricipate.It is worth mentioning that participation in this workshop has been a worthwhile experience as coordinators were taught on understanding drupal that came with practical exercises.

The Swaziland Revenue Authority Act and Five Other Acts are now availble on the website.

Judge of the High Court His Lordship Mr Justice Bheki Maphalala is now Judge of the Supreme Court.

 

Justice M.C.B Maphalala as oftenly refered was sworn in to the Highest Bench of the land yesterday Morning in the Chief Justice chambers alongside the Acting Judge of the Industrial Court, Justice Thulani Dlamini. His promotion comes after the retirement of  Former Judge of the Supreme Court , His Lordship Justice Foxcroft on the last  session of the Supreme Court which was held in MAY.
