Accoring to General notice 118/2010 issued by the Honourable Chief Justice and signed by the Registrar of the Supreme Court, it is mentione that the Second Session of the Supreme Court of Appeal for the 2011 legal year will resume from the 01st of November to the 30th of November 2011. The Honourable Justices of the Supreme Court will be arriving in the country on the 31st October in the latest. These include Justices Ebrahim from Zimbabwe, Dr S Twum from Ghana, Moore from Zambia, Farlam from the Republic of South Africa and our own Judge of the High Court Bheki Maphalala. He was recently appointed to the position of the Supreme court Judge and is expected to make his first sitting in the oncoming session of the Supreme court.
The Office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court is in its final stages of preperation and they are not deterred by the ongoing boycott of the lawyers. A number of cases have been lined up for hearing on this session, some being those that were deferred from the previous session. We are actually looking forward to an opportunity to meet and encourage our Supreme Court Judges to make use of our website. It is of Significance importance to point out that SwaziLII enjoys global usage and the publication of these judgments is really improving on the quality of our product. This I say because one of High Court Judgments has been cited in the International Court in FIJI and this is such an honour and priviledge to us as a nation that our product could be of assistance even to the International Community. That is the Case of Malaza v The Royal Swaziland Insurance Compant Ltd.
SwaziLII Board applauds all key role players who have helped in the achievements this projects has made so far. We continue to urge our Users to drop comments and suggestions on any ideas that could be implemented to improve the website. Remember our Motto is 'KWETFU' meaning we take pride in our own Law.
As enshrined by the Constitution The Honourable Chief Justice shall be Head Of the Supreme Court.
