Supreme Court Ends On a High Note

The Second session of the Supreme Court 2011 legal year has come to end. The Honourable Chief Justice sitting with other Justices of the Supreme Court has declared the closing of the Supreme when delivering close to thirty (30) judgments in open Court on Wednesday the 30th of November 2011. The Supreme Court resumed its sittings on the 01st of November 2011, where a number of cases had been enrolled before it. At the beginning there was uncertainity of what was to become of the cases where legal representation was required as the Country's lawyers had engaged in a boycott, but after deliberations between the parties of interest, the boycott by the lawyers ended and cases were ammicably handled in the respective court rooms. It is worth mentioning that the boycott has made the Supreme Court Judges to work under pressure as some other cases had to postponed from their initial dates of hearing due to non availability of Lawyers. It was after the boycott had ended that some of the postponed matters had to be heard due to their sensitivity and cruciality. That exerted so much pressure on the bench where writting of judgments is concerned, however They managed to deliver over Thirty (30) judgments despite the pressure and inconvenience.

The Judgments are now available on line.
