Ladies and Gentlemen,
Once again we are sadly gathered here this morning to pay tribute to two more members of the legal profession, namely, Mr Mthunzi Fakudze and Mrs Lindelwa Dube – Dlamini respectively.
Mr Fakudze obtained LLB from the University of Swaziland in 2003. From 2005 to 2007 he served Articles at S.C. Dlamini & Co.
From April 2008 to October 2008, Mr Fakudze worked as a Professional Assistant at Sigwane & Partners. From November 2008 to October 2009, he joined Mkhwanazi Attorneys in the same capacity. Seemingly always on the move, from November 2009 to March 2011, he joined Shilubane & Associates still in the same capacity of Professional Assistant.
Finally, from April 2011 until his sad passing away Mr Fakudze worked as a full partner at Fakudze Attorneys.
Mrs Lindelwa Dube – Dlamini on the other hand obtained BA Law in 1987 and LLB in 2006, both from the University of Swaziland. On 20 November 2009, I had the honour to grant her an Attorneys Practical Examination Certificate in my capacity as Acting Chief Justice then. The Examiners as the Certificate shows were Adv. Maziya, attorneys Z.W. Magagula, P. Nxumalo and B.J. Simelane.
Mrs Lindelwa Dube – Dlamini worked for various financial houses as a legal officer dealing with interpretation of legal documents, mortgage finance and micro finance debt collection, amongst others.
Mrs Dube – Dlamini’s funeral took place on 15 December 2012 while that of Mr Fakudze was held on 9 February 2013. We, at the Judiciary, including the Judicial Service Commission, are deeply saddened by the untimely death of these honourable members.
To both families of the deceased, we want you to know that we join you in your sad moment. We feel the pain that you feel. We trust, however, that the Almighty God will give you strength to overcome your sorrow.
On behalf of the Judiciary and on my own behalf I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to His Majesty the King, The Swazi Nation, the legal fraternity as well the Fakudze and Dube – Dlamini families.
MAY THE SOULS OF THE DEPARTED REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.
CHIEF JUSTICE OF SWAZILAND
